June 16th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »
  • Login To Your WordPress Account
  • Go To your dashboard > Plugins
  • A list of both active and inactive Plugins displays
  • Look for Plugin labeled Google Analytics
  • Activate the link in case it is deactive

Sign in to Google Analytics

  • Log in to Google Analytics at http://www.google.com/analytics
  • Click on Add Website Profile. A form displays
  • Select Add a Profile for a New Domain
  • Enter the URL of your site or blog
  • Select your country and time zone. Click Finish
  • Analytics provides you with a code block – a swatch of HTML – to add to your site’s pages

If You Already have Google Analytics Account

  • From the overview page, select the account that has the profile for the tracking code you’re looking for, as the code is profile-specific.
  • Select the profile from the accounts Overview page
  • From that profile’s Actions column, click Edit
  • At the top right of the ‘Main Website Profile Information’ box, click Check Status
  • Your tracking code can be copied and pasted from the text box in the Instructions for adding tracking section

Adding The Tracking Code to your WordPress blog

  • Now go back to your WordPress dashboard
  • Select the plugin Google Analytics
  • The text form will be displayed asking for your Google Analytics UID
  • Copy paste the UID from Google Analytics Tracking code
  • Leave the additional fields as it is (if you are not looking for additional tracking codes)
  • Scroll and click on Save Changes

Check Your Work

  • To ensure that you have successfully added the Google Analytics Code Block to your Blogger blog, go back to http://google.com/analytics/
  • Under status column you can see either Tracking Installed (you were successful) or Tracking Not Installed (something is amiss)
  • If it says not installed try again
