Finally astronauts in space have access to internet now. Timothy Creamer, the space station resident had been working to establish internet access from orbital post ever since he moved in the last month.

Before, the orbiting astronauts had to send such Twitter updates by email to Mission Control in Houston. Then controllers posted the tweets. But now they can have access to internet right on their laptop by connecting it through remote access to a desktop ay Mission Control.

The astronauts will be subject to the same Internet access guidelines as other on-the-job government employees, namely no interfering with work. Though the same regulations will be applied to astronauts for accessing internet during work as that of any other Govt. employee sitting in office- no interfering with work.

Google Q4 Net Income Increases 5-Fold to $1.9 Billion

Google posted a net income of $6.67 billion for the year 2009 compared to $4.22 billion last year in 2008. 47% of this revenue has come from the U.S market while its revenue from outside of U.S is 3.52 billion. Google had a strong Q4 with net income of $197 billion in October-December

Google’s revenue from paid clicks on ads served on its website went up 13% from last year. Google owned site generated revenues of $4.42 billion or 66% of total revenues, in the fourth quarter of 2009, compared to $3.81 billion in year ago period.
